How we work, and why
There is not much mystery in removals. The firms that are good at it measure first, write things down, protect the building and turn up with enough people. Everything below is a version of one of those four.
We work out of Pinner and across HA5: the village, Pinner Green, Hatch End, Eastcote, Pinner Hill and Rayners Lane. Most of what we do is household moves — the interwar semis and detached houses this part of London is made of, the flats near the stations, and the periodic maisonette above a parade.
The register of this firm is fairly plain: we would rather explain a constraint than promise around it. A quotation that turns out to be wrong costs you money and costs us a reputation, and the only reliable way to avoid one is to go and look at the house.
Six rules we actually work to
We measure before we price
No figure leaves here without somebody having walked the route a wardrobe has to take. An estimate over the phone is a guess with a number attached to it.
The quotation states its assumptions
Volume, crew, vehicle, access, packing, and what would change the price. If a thing is not on the quotation, it is not assumed.
The crew that loads unloads
They have the plan, they know which pieces are awkward, and they know the order things came out in.
Fabric is protected first
Thresholds, banisters, glazing and floors are covered before the first item is lifted, not after the first scrape.
We decline rather than gamble
Where an operation is genuinely unsafe or would damage the building, we say so at the time and offer the alternative.
We send work away
If a job belongs with a firm in Northwood, Harrow or Ruislip, that is what we will tell you.
What we do not do
We do not carry waste and hold no waste carrier licence, so a load bound for the tip is not a job we can take. We do not clear properties on behalf of anybody without the owner's authority. And we do not quote without seeing the house, even when pressed — it is the one place where being obliging makes the eventual outcome worse.
Where we belong, and where we do not
HA5 is our patch. Northwood, Harrow and Ruislip are neighbours with firms of their own, and a move that starts and finishes in one of those towns is better with them. We cross those boundaries constantly on longer jobs, and we will deliver into any of them without hesitation.

HA5 is served by several removals firms, and they work in genuinely different ways. Ask each of us what is measured at survey, what appears on the quotation and what happens when a date moves. Whoever answers all three without hedging is the one to book.
Cover
Goods-in-transit and public liability cover are maintained, and the limits that apply to your move — including any limit per item — are stated on the quotation rather than buried. Anything above the per-item limit needs declaring at survey so appropriate cover can be arranged in advance. The detail is in the terms.
