HA5Conservation area
Pinner Village
The medieval High Street and the lanes off it: narrow frontages, listed fabric, and almost nowhere for a full-size vehicle to stand for long.
Coverage
Coverage pages are usually a list of every place within an hour's drive. This one says where we work weekly, where we deliver, and where somebody else will do a better job than us.
Pinner sits in the London Borough of Harrow, at the north-western edge of London where the suburb runs out and the Chilterns start being visible from the top of the hill. Its postcode, HA5, covers a good deal more than the village itself.

HA5Interwar suburb
Wide roads, drives at most houses, verges that take the weight. The most straightforward loading anywhere in the postcode.
HA5Detached & gardens
Larger detached houses on longer plots, gravel approaches and front paths that add carrying distance rather than difficulty.
HA5 / HA4Tudorbethan
Bay-fronted interwar stock with side access and garages. Eastcote sits on the Ruislip border and shares its firms as much as ours.
HA5Private roads
Rising ground and private drives. Whether a vehicle can turn at the top is a question to answer at survey, not on the morning.
HA5 / HA2Flats & parade
Flats above the parade and the estates behind it. The parade sets the loading window; the buildings themselves are rarely the problem.
HA6Neighbour
Crossed constantly on longer moves. Northwood has its own removals firms and a move that starts and ends there belongs with them.
HA1 / HA2 / HA4Neighbours
Both towns are served by their own firms. We deliver across these borders; we do not claim either as our patch.
Because a firm that works a town every week knows its roads, its parking restrictions and the habits of its managing agents better than a visitor does. Northwood, Harrow and Ruislip each have removals firms of their own. If your move begins and ends in one of those towns, ring them first — you will get a better job and a better price.
We will still deliver into all of them, and we cross those borders on longer moves without a second thought. The distinction is between a route and a patch.
Three things, and they are the three the survey looks at. Where a vehicle can stand and for how long, which decides whether we shuttle. The distance from that standing place to the front door, which decides crew size. And what the building does to a large piece of furniture — the width of a hall in a village cottage against the staircase of a converted loft on Pinner Hill.
None of that is visible from a postcode, which is why coverage lists are less useful than surveys.
HA5 is served by several removals firms, us included, with genuinely different ways of working. Ask each of us the same three questions — what is measured at survey, what appears on the quotation, and what happens if a date moves — and choose whoever answers without hedging.
Questions
Pinner and HA5 first — the village, Pinner Green, Hatch End, Eastcote, Pinner Hill and Rayners Lane — then outward across NW London and anywhere in the UK a move needs to go. Longer moves out of HA5 are ordinary work rather than an exception.
Because a firm that works a town every week knows its roads, its parking and its buildings better than a visitor does. Northwood, Harrow and Ruislip have their own; we would rather you had the right crew than that we had the job.
We deliver into it regularly. For a move that both begins and ends inside the congestion zone, a central firm with the right permits and vehicle sizes will serve you better, and there are pan-London firms set up precisely for that.
Next step
Including, occasionally, that it is not — in which case we will say who to ring instead.
